Can grants support moving treatments from 1/week to 2/week?

No. Grants only support moving treatments from 2/week to greater frequency

If a patient stops treatment for which a grant has been awarded, can an application be submitted for support of work with another patient?

Yes. The existing grant is vacated and an new grant application is required. 

Can I get multiple grants at a time?

No, a grantee can have only one active grant at a time. Grantees can apply for a renewal of a grant at the end of the grant time or submit a new application for a new grant at the end of the current grant. 

Is there a time limit to receive the grant funds?

All paperwork (6- and 12-month) must be submitted in a timely manner. It is the grantee's responsibility to comply with all paperwork requirements to receive the grant funds. Failure to submit paperwork in a timely manner may result in refusal of future grants.

Is the grant tax-free?

No.  Awardees are required to submit a completed W9 or W-8BEN form with the 6 Month Work Documentation Form. Grantees who submitted a W9 will be issued a 1099 form in January of the next year.

Is there a patient age limit to receive a grant?

Yes. An AFAA grant is dependent on the age requirement from the applicant's home Institute for child analysis cases. For example, if your Institute allows child cases up to and including patients age 24 then that is the age for which a grant will be considered for both initial and renewal applications. If the patient falls outside the age range of the applicant's home Institute for child cases then that case does not qualify for an AFAA grant

Are AFAA grants available to candidates who work in their institute's clinic as part of their analytic training obligation?

Yes. Candidate grant applicants who work in their institute’s clinic must submit a letter from their training director giving permission to apply for an ACP AFAA grant.

What happens if there is a change in patient attendance?

If a patient’s attendance decreases or ceases, recipients will receive a pro-rated portion of the allocated funds. That information must be noted on the Work Documentation Form.

Are checks made out to the individual or the organization at which the individual works?

Checks are payable to the individual or to the individual's personal practice name only and are made out to the name on the W9 form. 

Who is eligible for an AFAA grant?

Only ACP members are eligible for a AFAA grant and must maintain membership throughout the course of the grant timeline.
