The 2021 Scholar: Jim Herzog, a distinguished and engaging child analyst from Boston. ACP is honored that he has accepted the award and is enthusiastic about making CATS visits to centers around the country.
Within only a few days of the announcement, the committee received a number of enthusiastic applications for visits and Jim was selected from this distinguished pool.
Due to travel restrictions as well as health and safety concerns, the committee is pleased to announce our Scholar has agreed to complete a virtual CATS session in the 2021 calendar year, while we plan ahead for two in-person visits to chosen locales in 2022. Thus we will be able to maintain the CATS program, while conserving current travel funds to apply in 2022.
About the program:
A joint project of the ACP and the APsaA DPE Child Section, the CATS committee will select a distinguished colleague each year who will travel to two local groups to talk about child and adolescent analysis. We hope to stimulate interest and increase knowledge about child analysis, encourage trainings, link candidates and faculty from different places and lots more! The Program will pay for travel expenses and the local society will take care of lodging and food. Together the local group and the Scholar will decide how they want to use the visit, what would be most interesting and stimulating for them.
